The term Glacial is often used for organic compounds that form ice-like crystals at temperatures below freezing. Water-free (anhydrous) acetic acid is commonly known as Glacial Acetic Acid and it appears as a colorless solid with a bitter flavor at room temperature. It is hygroscopic (water absorber) in nature. Lab grade chemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standard for quality or purity like the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade. Our Acetic Acid Glacial, Lab Grade is recommended for educational institutes and research labs.
Glacial Acetic Acid, also know as “Acetic Acid, Glacial” appears as a clear colorless liquid with a strong odor of vinegar. Flash point 104°F. Density 8.8 lb / gal. Corrosive to metals and tissue. Used to make other chemicals, as a food additive, and in petroleum production.
